Tuckerton Morning
 

This is my most recent commission. The subject was adorable but very difficult to photograph. This is an 16 x 24 oil. I'm including an enlargement of the face; however, I'm not sure why it's so grainy.

Beautiful! Love the setting you've put him in -- brings back memories of the Jersey shore. . . :sunnysmil Is Tuckerton his name, then?

Hi, Terri! Thanks to you and to Claudemir. Nope, Tuckerton's not his name; actually it's Owen. But I didn't want to identify him too specifically because of the caveats re children. I met up with his parents one cool morning in Tuckerton, since that was halfway between their home and mine and had the added bonus of a seashore background, and we shot a bunch of photos of him. I would have loved to have gotten something with his eyes open wider, but it was rather bright out and he kept squinting. Later I got some good photos of him with his face in a more relaxed setting, but it was shady and none of the expressions appealed to his parents as much as this one. You know the drill.

The wooden bucket belonged to my son, as did the little wooden sailboat. They make great props.

Check out my French redhead in the figurative section. I'm doing a series of French paintings based on our trip there this past October. What a wonderful experience!
