The portrait of a boy is

28cm x 42cm charcoal on Roma

For all you charcoal lovers. This is a recent drawing which will be a addition to the collection for my upcoming exhibit. The parents of the young girl, in my previous portrait, are already anxious to have the drawing. I shared with them that I am not anxious to sell it and that I plan to exhibit it in my upcoming show. We left it at that. Some mite think I'm not nice. Not true at all.

I hope you enjoy the drawing regardless what you mite think of me.

Mischa- Both of the charcoals you have posted are just wonderful. The parents should be flattered that you want to exhibit their daughter's portrait. When you do sell them, make sure you ask anough :-). Keep it up.

This is beautiful and very original. I find it difficult to get charcoal to go this dark and sometimes resort to black pastel. Was this only charcoal?

I like that the reflection looks at the viewer.

Another incredible drawing! I admire the way you have handled this very original concept. The golden section division of inside/outside at the top is naturally pleasing to the eye. (Was it intuitive or intentional?) And I like the way his face overlaps the strong line of the window frame. The reflection is handled really well, too--there's just enough of it!

Marina, thank you. I like reflections not sure why. Some time ago, while in Sacramento CA, I went around taking pictures of reflections, interesting doors, windows and verandas. Some thought me strange walking on their front lawn taking a photo of their window. O well. I did explain when asked.

Alex, thank you. I try my best to design what I wish to express, sometimes adding or eliminating. Mind you, I do not always succeed. I usually go with what I like and the possibilities in the making (adding or eliminating). Thank you for noticing.

I'm surprised that I did not receive many comments on the Flamenco dancer? I guess not many liked the composition. Sure, I thought just drawing my wife and not the other gal but I do like the interaction. O well.
