Monochrome of Bailey

Another monochrome done for a friend. I'm busy taking classes to learn how work in color, but still get requests for this style of painting. It's good practice for me and I like how this turned out. I see some progress for myself in proportion and value.

I'm in awe and am inspired by so much of the work I see on this site. Thanks to everyone that takes the time to post.

April,

Not only have you captured something engaging and alert in this girl's expression, you have also achieved good value control in the face and neck. Very nice!

April,

This is really beautiful! I have enjoyed doing monochrome paintings myself. It is SO helpful to practice value control. I think you'll enjoy moving to color as well.

I'm sure your friend will be thrilled!
