This summer I was visiting family in my home town and country of former Yugoslavia.

While at a bus stop, with my thirteen year old son, I met this gent and struck up a conversation. He turned out to be real nice and pleasant to talk with. He shared some life stories with us. My son and I listened while he shared experiences of his life as a professional soccer ref. I usually carry my Olympus point and shoot and asked him for the privilege.

I know I was to close to take the photo but his nose was quite large. So I thought to express it a bit more.

This is absolutely lovely.

Mischa,

His nose may be large, but this is one case where an almost-tangential line (nose and cheek) work in his favor. The nose fits into his cheek contour and you can't really tell where it ends. I've never see it work like this before. As it is, his lovely blue eyes and white moustache steal the show. You really get a kindly sparkle of this man's personality. It is a lovely portrait.

Kimberly, it's nice of you to say that. Thank you.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it before but I really enjoy visiting your web page. Some of my favorite are Necessary Comfort, Firmness of Purpose and others.

Alex, you have such a way with words. Love your aproach to painting and what you can do with a brush. Thank you!
