Maybe "Nicole with White Rose"

Hi, I'm finally finished with this one, took a while, bunch of obstacles which should never have been excuses. Anyhoo, it's pastel on Wallis brand paper mounted to Gatorboard 24x36". I'm not sure of the title, but I'm going with "nicole with white rose" for now, unless someone can suggest something cool. I'm a simple person, so nothing that'll make me think causing me to hurt myself. :o

I wanna thank everyone who commented in the 'wip' area about it, and thanks for looking.

ps. I only have one day to come up with a title.

Oh Jimmie - wow this looks great! That red scrolling in the back with the blue is wonderful! Congratulations! I just love this. I dont have a suggestion for a name though - I already stole 'Pensive' from you! :o

Jimmy, She turned out beautifully!

There's something about the 'halo', her expression, the reds, the single white rose. . . that gives it a sort of mysterious / iconic feel. Mesmerizing.

Jimmie,

This is lovely; the composition is extremely satisfying.

Jimmie,
Wow! What a great composition! And wondeful execution! I really like the colors too!

Jimmie,

I've been watching this develop in the other section but I didn't say anything, since you had so much help from people who know more about figurative work than I. It's turned out beautifully! It really does have an oddly hypnotic feeling, with the circle being completed by the neckline of her bodice and the heavy eyelids. It's almost a little scary to look at for too long. (I meant that in a good way.)

Thank you Kim, that was the hardest decision to make in the painting, did'nt want to ruin all the time and patience put into it by inserting something that did'nt flow. It was inspired by Gustav Klimt's 'Nudas Veritas' (sp?) You stole "Vulnerable" from me, but I'll let it slide once, ONCE! hahahaha!

Thanks Terri, not everyone likes the white rose. They must be silly, right Kim? It's picking on Kim day. ;)

Jimmie, I can only echo what everyone else has said: Mesmerizing, powerful, masterfully done. Beautiful job ... congratulations!

This is wonderful, Jimmie! I really enjoyed reading these responses, which confirm what I feel when I see this - there is a religious/gothic quality, a Madonna of the Black Satin angle that is very interesting.

It's always so interesting to see what you do with the beautiful woman genre. Congratulations on another strong work!

Jimmie, this is truly superb!

I am mesmerized by her iconic art-nouveau-like presense, and your selective, stylish use of colors. That white rose really symbolically completes the halo.

Congratulations,

Garth
