Prince of Egypt

I'm not quite sure if it belongs here in figurative - feel free to move it.
Done from life ,14x18 Comments are very welcome! |
Wow - from life with a costume!
I am loving those blues in the skin. Nicely done. |
Maria, I'm really impressed with the skin colors and the facial planes. I also like the canvas shape and the way the prince is looking off the edge of the canvas. I'd be interested to hear how the "Prince of Egypt" idea came about. Was it based on a theme, a desire to use the costume and that wonderful staff, or a way to utilize the model?

Kim, Alex - thanks!
Well, the costume was the model's idea - he is from Egypt and wanted to do something different :) Needless to say we were very happy! |
Great job, Maria.
I agree with Alex and Kim. The hand and face are very strong and really convey a solid look. My eye wraps around the face. I'm especially impressed that this was done from life. Great job! |
John, thank you very much!
Believe me or not, but I can't paint from photos :( I did try a few times, but it all went to trash... So I'm sticking to the painting from life till I get more experience |
Wow, I'm also digging them colors!

Thanks, Jimmie!
I love working from life, but still would like to be able to use photo references. Would be nice to paint my kids now, before they reach their teens :) |
