Primed polyester canvas
 

Hi, has anybody here tried either the Artfix or Fredrix (oil or acrylic) primed polyester canvases? I'm thinking of ordering some but would like to know any of your insights or experiences first.

I've used, and continue to use, Fredrix Ultrasmooth to practice on, for the economy. It's a mixture of cotton and polyester. The polyester may restore strength to the shorter-fibered cotton--compared to linen, which is longer-fibered and thus stronger.

I've also noticed that the poly-cotton blends are less subject to expansion and contraction due to humidity. Here in the South, that's also a plus.

Purists may gag, but these are perfectly acceptable products. Go ahead and use them if you choose.
