Garth, this is lovely. The link did not work for me for the first one. One thing that caught my eye and bothered me is her hand on our left looks too small.

Garth,
I agree with Kim about the left hand. The rest of the painting is great. I love the perspective distortion. It raises all sorts of questions in the viewers mind. Did you consciously distort or was it part of a reference photo? Real life or was Salvadore Dali making an appearance or just playful fun?

Garth, i also love this work, the perspective issue isn`t one really, as mentioned, it adds to the painting if anything. I particularly enjoyed the way you`ve painted the face and clothes. One thing though, i`m not sure about the trees in the background, they appear to be too much in focus for being that far away from the subject, and the colours are quite bright, slightly drawing the eye away.

Anyway, a slight issue of a really well painted work.

Chris.

The perspective problems do bother me, actually. The bowing of the top edge of the windows and the small left hand are also problems of lens distortion and severe perspective, caused by taking the photo from too close in.

Otherwise I think this is your best work yet, Garth.

I admire your work. However, the close inspection of the proportions of the face bother me a little. The eyes do not line up well, and the jaw line on the viewer's right looks crimped. It looks like you struggled a bit with this one.

The windows also need to have less intesity, so that there is distance shown. They look like little paintings on the glass rather than trees off in the distance.

Lovely work overall.

Lon is right, it is a lovely painting that will be exceptional with a little tweaks here and there. I thought the values of light needs a little adjustment - a little more light on the forehead than the rest of the face because i reckoned the light's coming from the top.
And i found the trees peeking out of the little windows a little too fresh, distracting the focus away from the little girl. A little wash of cobalt blue with a tinge of yellow ochre over the little windows might do the trick. :)
