Hello,

I'm Julie Boyles and although I'm not really a new member, I am really just now becoming active. I started my art in 2002 doing colored pencil drawings and paintings. I switched to digital art one year ago using a computer painting program, Corel Painter 8 and have really enjoyed it.

About a month ago, I decided that I wanted to challenge myself and try traditional painting with oils. I have almost finished my first oil painting which I am putting in the critique section today. I am really excited about using oils and have several painting ideas already in the works.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Cynthia and all the other great artists on this site. I have learned so much from all of you and will continue to learn in the future.

Welcome to the forum. You will be so glad you took the step to post some work for critique. Having mutiple sets of eyes on your work will change the way you see the piece and will greatly improve your ability to find areas that need attention. And the professionals here are so kind and generous, you won't be disappointed!!

Open yourself up to their direction and watch your work grow. It is evident from what you have written that you are serious and your passion authentic - so, good luck!!
