Another graphite drawing, this one done more in a sketchy manner. If you look closely at the lines in the bandana, they were done by my daughter. She just turned six, and figured she'd have enough control to work on my drawing. Before, I just let her do some erasing. On extra paper, I showed her how I hold my pencil and the strokes I make, one line next to the other, making sure she lifted the pencil before making the next mark. She was really concentrating, it was great.
Anyhoo, it's on Stonehenge light gray paper, 16x10". |
You're a great artist and a great dad!

Jimmie,
I really like this one. What a story it tells. My question is, are there two artists' signatures on this one?!! Your daughter will be a master before she is 20!! |
Thank you Carlos and Pat,
Just one signature, I'm hogging all the credit!!! :o I'm going to let her do something in everything I do from now on. (except the nudes or distasteful) I hope she doesn't want to get into art, at least not seriously. She takes lessons in Tae Kwan Do, tennis, and piano. She'll have to give up one of them. Not enough hours in a day. Not to mention not enough money in my pocket. She did ballet and tap, and wants to do gymnastics. She does art on her own at home, has tons of art material, uses my wife's laptop and my old printer to print out pages to color. She's very imaginative. I know every parent says so, but she loves building houses out of cards, even includes a space for the garage. Sorry for blabbing, but thanks again for the comments. |
Are we going to see stick figures drawn on top of your portraits now? -ha ha
BTW, I don't think you could ever draw anything distasteful :-) |
Another BABE! I love her!
I just LOVE that you do such contemporary WOMEN. I think it takes more courage to look for the beauty in the present rather than dig in the tired mines of nostalgia. |
