I have decided to give Bryson's portrait another shot, as it is a good reference. I would like to know what you would do with the background, what you would omit, how you would crop the photo, etc.

-Sorry the pic is so small. I hope you can get the idea. I couldn't seem to get it to fit any other way. Thank you.

Sandra, your original photo is pretty nice compositionally. I didn't realize those were pumpkins, but that it was maybe some wild wallpaper!.

I am reminded of this cute fella painted by SOG member Jim Ward.

Also, a slightly expanded composition might be fun. There was not much resolution left in your photo but maybe you can get the drift.
