Ok, for starters, I have painted about 5 painting in my life, and this is my first attempt at a portrait in paint. So be gentle. I know it's not incredible, but for my first attempt I think I have done a decent job. I'm hoping to get better with time, which is usually the case with everything you do. The canvas was 30" x 40", and it is done with acrylics.

Not bad for a first!

The first thing that jumps out at me is her eyebrows - they look too dark and solid for a baby. Thinning the acrylics with water and trying to blend the edges before they dry may help. Or - dry brush with very little paint.
