The head is about 10x10" - I think I may be improving in my ability to capture life in my drawings, however, I have the bad habit of working out the face and leaving the ear for last.

Ha, I do the same thing with the ear, been doing it for years. Your ability is improving in such a short time. Practice, brother, practice.

You are improving Matthew - great job

Matthew, you are going the right direction. Did your scanner crop the top of the head? Are you going to finish the ear?

I would suggest that you use your sandpaper more so that your pencil gives you more. You are not taking full advantage of the tip of the pencil.

Thanks for your comments. Yes the scanner did crop his head, actually my scanner is very tiny, so it can only scan so much. In my latest drawing I make more use of the tip of my pencil.

But first i'll show you the completed drawing of "The Old Man".

A bit different from my last drawing, this is of a young woman. Again it is cut off in every direction - because of the scanner, and to meet the forum requirements.

Im working on a different technique, so there are alot of errors in this drawing.
