Drawn to Perfection Exhibit

The Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, Ohio (where I take my classes) is currently holding an exhibit, hosted by the Cleveland Artists Foundation, called Drawn to Perfection. It is an exhibit of exquisite drawings of Jean and Paul Ulen, who taught art at West Tech High School from the 1920's through the 60's. My father remembers taking classes from them, and Mr. Ulen judging a photography competition which my father won (by the way!!)

The drawings are so inspiring, they just blew me away. Mr. and Mrs. Ulen studied at the Slade School of University College in London in the 20's and were students of Henry Tonks who you may know was a close friend of Sargent's. Any of you that live close enough should visit this exhibit. I was utterly amazed that our little organization could have such an incredible collection (Mr and Mrs. Ulen lived in Lakewood, Ohio).
