Now what critique can you give of this?

Hi Judson,

I'm not qualified to critique anything here. However, the reference-photo is always needed, otherwise no response.

I find it nice.

Cheers, a novice.

Actually, there are any number of reasons why a post may not have generated much response, some of them mentioned in this thread.

Since this electronic studio doesn't permit us to look at the actual subjects for information and comparison, we appreciate being able to have a look at reference photos if they are available. However, works can be assessed with or without the references. Obviously, if there's a question about, say, whether a likeness has been achieved, we can't offer an opinion without the resource material.

What will sometimes happen is that a member will post a number of pieces in a short span of time, and those who are willing to offer critiques may choose to direct advices to as many different members as possible.

Just keep posting. One thing that could be done in the interim is to self-critique the piece and post your thoughts, which will in turn likely induce others to join in. Or ask specific questions, perhaps about the lighting, or the composition, which are "bite size" and a bit more manageable in the time available.
