While overseas, I acquired about a dozen PAL format art instruction video tapes on a variety of subjects (mostly landscapes, some knife painting, a couple of Van Wyks). If you're unfamiliar with PAL video format, suffice it to say that it's incompatible with the North American NTSC format.
I was able to play them on a multi-system TV/VCR that has recently gone to its final reward, and the cost of replacing it means that I won't. If you can play PAL video tapes on your equipment and would like to see a list of the tapes, email me. Bargain basement pricing, plus postage. |
In other words, if they could play on my regular old generic VCR, I'd like to see that list.

No, Karin, they couldn't. Sorry. You'd have to have either an expressly PAL dedicated VCR or a multi-system VCR.
I've found an outfit in Florida that will convert these to NTSC DVDs for my own use, so that's now my next step. Meanwhile, the PAL tapes are likely usable only by overseas members or others who happen to have acquired players overseas and brought them back to the U.S. |
:( Rats.

Sorry, these video tapes are no longer available.
