Just delivered today (and still wet) this painting could have been posted in the thread on teeth but instead decided to show as recent work.

And a detail of the head.

I was just browsing older posts, and I realized I hadn't seen this one before. Apparently no one else has, either.

This is a lovely use of a minimal palette. It's almost monochromatic. There's an ongoing project at WetCanvas, employing Zorn's minimal palette. He supposedly used black, golden ocre, vermilion red, and white.

What colors were in your palette?

Hi Jim,

I do recall seeing this, and enjoy seeing it again. I especially like the way you've handled the clothing, very simple, but with texture and not too much detail.

I am sure your clients were thrilled.

Congrats,

Beautiful, lush brushwork! I especially like the way you've put some energy in the background around the hair.

I saw this when you posted it before and, as then, I'm especially struck by the eyes and the beautiful way you've made them come alive. I also love the modeling around them, and the way you've shown the depth. The rest of her isn't too shabby either. ;) Very impressive.
