Jessica

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm finished with this piece. I can't think of much to add to it, but feels like I can work on it some more. I was thinking of adding some shading to her right side by the shirt, but may not need it.

This is about 17" x 10", graphite on light gray Stonehenge. Thanks for looking.

Highlights

Hi Jimmie, One thing jumps right out at me, the highlights on her face are very light. In particular along her left cheek and inside corner of her nose and eye, and the highlight under her nostril. She may look softer if they were toned down.

As always, another interesting and complicated drawing from you Jimmie. I always enjoy looking at your works (even the surreal ones on your site)!

Jimmie,

I could look at your drawings all day. Your work is top notch.

I saw some of the WIP pictures you posted on WetCanvas. You should post an article there on your methods.

Terrific work! Did you take the picture as well? It is masterfully drawn. I cannot critique this style, as I am a "liney." But I respect your skill.

Thanks

Jean, thanks for the critique. It's pretty true to the reference, although I know I can always alter it myself, but I think the problem is the contrast on screen. It is definitely not this strong in the original, although it is noticeable. Not enough where I would change it, but always good to consider when working on future drawings.

Yes, I take the pictures myself. The best face , from a slr camera, was added to the best body pose, from a digital, and put together on Photoshop for my final reference. I bought a new printer, HP 7960, which is giving me better quality prints for blow ups. Thanks to you and Jeff for the comments.

In my view, it is done. Sign it, hang it.
