SoCal-ASOPA Portrait Competition
 

SoCal-ASOPA will be hosting their first,annual, juried portrait competition in Laguna Hills, CA on October 10th, 2003. Slide entries are due by August 1st, 2003 and all entries will be juried by Mrs. Margaret Baumgaertner and Mr. Vito-Leonardo Scarola.

I received some inquiries about the competition and like to clarify a few things.

Entry Deadline-
Slides are due no later than August 1st, 2003

U.S. Entries only-
This competition has been advertised in the Artist's Magazine for two issues. Has run in the Pastel Journal Magazine, is on ASOPA's site, the Art Calendar, etc. and YES it is open to anyone residing in the United States.

I am sorry to say that this year we can not accept entries from other countries, but we are working to change this for future competitions.

Size requirements-
Paintings can not exceed 54"x54" including the frame.

Delivery/Shipping-
All work admitted to the show must be delivered to Laguna Hills, CA either in person or through the mail.

I wanted to thank those people from the forum, who have submitted their slides. The work is outstanding and I wish you all the best of luck.

For those still debating weather to enter or not, the slide entry deadline is August 1st.

Great News!

If you have missed the August 1st deadline I am happy to announce that the deadline for slide submissions has now moved to August 20th.

You do not have to belong to Socal-ASOPA to enter and we are accepting entries from all over the United States.
