I wanted to say hello and tell Cynthia what a lovely site this is. Not only is it filled with great information, but I like the design too!

My name is Elizabeth, I am from Cincinnati, OH. Have been married for 20 years and have three teenage daughters, so now you know I am crazy.

I have been a graphic designer since 1980, and just last year started moving into pastel portraiture, which is what my undergrad degree included. I love it and have experienced modest success. I think my greatest achievement might have been that it lit a fire under me to design and produce my own web site. That was a major undertaking for a right brain person, but by the 40th hour it was a huge crossword puzzle to me - and I didn't want to give up the challenge.

I was very anixious to post on this site. There are many people I respect and am afraid of the critiques I might receive. My neighbors love everything. :D

I can only dream of achieving the talent and knowledge of so many artist here. But I am having a great time doing it. Best to you all!

Hi Beth, I think we've already "met" on this forum, when you said such nice things about one of my portraits. I remember seeing your portrait in IA Magazine. It's beautifully executed and has such a great feeling of life in it! I also took a peek at your website and was similarly impressed with your other work. It will be a great learning experience to exchange thoughts and ideas with you.

I know what you mean about being crazy. I have been married for 22 years and have only two teenage children but it is a busy life when you try to add in full-time work and be taken seriously.
