Lou's latest portrait update
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
This is Lou's latest portrait and the first one we have posted for critique. The size is 25x30 and the medium is graphite pencil (per customer's request). We welcome any comments. Is there a limit to the number of portraits submitted for critique? I had a hard time photographing it as I kept getting a reflection with the flash, and without it the photos turned out too dark. I am going to ask the owner of the portrait to loan it to us to photograph again. Thank you, Rendi Ames |
Hello Rendi and Lou,
Welcome to the Forum critique. Would you be kind enough to post size and medium, as well? For information on photographing artwork, click on http://forum.portraitartist.com/foru...s=&forumid=46. |
Nice work on the individual portraits. Too bad you had to bunch them all into one. It reminds me of an experience I had in a photo booth as a child with a bunch of buddies. I would have declined, citing the composition dilemma. Perhaps if you drew them smaller on the same page but each in his own vignette, with a little breathing room around the edges, it may have worked better. As it is, it looks a bit crowded.

Crowded
Lon,
Thanks so much for your comments, they are much appreciated. Yes, it is quite a group to do and there really is more to the page. Since I was trying to get "all of it" into the size this forum handles, I cropped it to get the images as big as possible. With a little practice I will get better at it. I apologize to you and Lou for the misrepresentation, I promise to get better at it. I feel better about the pastel I posted yesterday of our granddaughter. There are 2 sizes. Again, thanks. Rendi |
