Hello everyone,
Been a while since I |
Carlito,
Mighty fine painting. I say "painting" instead of sketch. I really don't understand the term sketch in this context. Is there a point at which a sketch becomes a painting? To me the term "sketch" diminishes the effort somewhat, and this effort shouldn't be diminished in any way. There are no bounds to my educational needs. Also, I'm trying to be slightly provacative in case there is anyone out there who is still listening, and provocable. We may be like Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner in that movie "On The Beach," (I'd like to play Gregory if you don't mind) when G. P. drove his submarine up from Australia to San Francisco looking for life after the nuclear bomb wiped everyone out. "Waltzing Matilda" should be our theme song. Apart from all that nonsense I especially like this sketchy painting, and all the other paintings of your daughter. I'm partial to the daughter thing. Miguelito |
Lovely painting Carlos! I too like these paintings you do of your daughter -- they always seem to capture the sense of being a snippet of real-life, rather than posed. . . Beautiful work!
|
Welcome back Carlos, I have been on a hiatus like yourself although I have nothing to show yet.
I do like the colours you have chosen and the play of light in your sketchy painting... Ngaire |

BRAVO, Carlos!
|
Wonderful! I love the mood and the atmosphere--even if the camera was a little less than professional :) Well done and welcome back to the forum after your absence.
|
Nice! What a beautiful harmony and expression, Carlos.
|
Very pleasing to the eye. Beautiful job!
|
John,
thanks for looking and for the comment... Natalie, thank you also--I miss my camera and I |
Very nice Carlos, I like the casualness of the pose, as if we are stepping into your home for just a moment and see your daughter there. Nicely relaxed, yet so well executed. It feels good!
|
A poem in paint....lovely!

Patricia,
Thanks for the comment. I always like it when people connect with the painting in that way: getting a very intimate glimpse of a scene without being noticed. Julie and David--what excessively kind comments! I |
You know I'm a big fan of your work.
Congrats again. (ps. how did you happen to brake your camera?) |
Very nice portrait, Carlos,
|
another very late reply ....very sorry!
Thanks Claudemir ! The camera just stopped functioning and displayed "error" in the screen. It |

Carlito,
I notice that you have changed your avatar. What could it be? What could it be? Try making the ends pointed and see how it bounces. |
|
I love the mood and technique of your paintings Carlos. Very comforting and would add such a nice splash of warmth to any home.
