My portrait of British costume designer Denise Piggin, which was published in the Richeson 75 International Artist Choice 2008 book, won 3rd place in the Saddleback Art League competition.

Two other works of mine also made it into the show and will be on display for one month.

It is nice to get recognized by our peers, once in a while for all the work we put into each painting, isn't it?!

Enzie,
YIPPEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy and proud! This is well deserved, your painting is beautiful. You are growing by leaps and bounds and I am impressed that you have stuck to the subject matter you are most passionate about. We paint what is in the deepest parts of us. Your jury of peers recognize that in your work.

Enzie Shahmiri 05-06-2008 10:36 AM

Than you Alex!

Patti you made me smile. What a wonderful, nice comment from a friend!
Thank you! I always keep in mind what Marvin once said to us in one of the workshops. It went somewhat like this:

"We are like farmers. We will have to plow the fields and spend a great amount of time preparing the ground to ready it for the seeds. Then we plant and wait....."

Some of us have to wait longer than others, but eventually the labor of love pays off and we can bring in the harvest. In due time even the wind takes some of our seeds and scatters them in other places, making others aware that there is a field blooming in some corner of the world.
