These are two new pieces I

Debra Norton 02-23-2008 09:44 PM

Carlos, I like both of these, very much.

Allan Rahbek 02-24-2008 07:05 AM

Carlos,
I like the muted olive color you seem to favor too, it always make me want to be there.
The framework of town buildings is interesting and an inexhaustible motife, you should do more of it.

Carlos Ygoa 02-24-2008 01:40 PM

Thanks Debra for looking and for your comment.
Allan, thank you also. Somehow I am always drawn to muted earth colours. I do intend to make more of these themes.

I think you really found a nice theme to explore and i am looking forward to see more

Thank you Ilaria. Winter has been very mild here this year and I see these scenes everyday. Nice video you posted on youtube by the way
Claudemir, thanks very much.

Carlos, nice to see your work on here again. I like these compositions very much and the designs made by the figures and dark spaces are successful.

Marina Dieul 02-27-2008 09:31 AM

Carlos,
I agree that these compositions are successful. I see that you played once more with the theme of the cell phone.
nice works!

Just stumbled across these...beautiful little paintings. I love how you captured the feeling of the architecture. There is a lot of atmosphere in these. Would love to see more ...

Carlos,

I always enjoy the juxtaposition of old and new in your work. In fact there is a touch of humor in it. From your paintings I would guess that you have a good sense of humor that is not obvious at first meeting. Whether that's actually true, I have no idea!

I love the dark doorways, and in the first one, I especially love the way you can see into the interior space. It gives the painting depth, mystery, and also a secondary focal point.

Carlos Ygoa 03-27-2008 07:20 AM

Thanks for your comment, David. I am planning to do a series of these little works when I get the time. Hope it

Hi to all,

I wanted to post this new one I just finished. In the same line as the previous 2 in this thread.
Also culled from various photos and "recomposed" and "distilled" on the panel.

Carlos,
I like this new addiction ;) it is an exquisite demonstraton of body language and very picturesque, keep up!

One day I'll come down to your town and paint with you.

Carlos Ygoa 06-02-2008 10:49 AM

Thanks for your response Allan. It is exactly what I want to achieve in this little series: atmosphere and body gesture/language. Aside from the fact that I derive pure pleasure out of painting them.

You will be very welcome. It would be an honour to paint alongside you.

Carlos these are really neat. I like the spontaneity of them.
