Hello everyone! My name is Casey Childs, I live in Provo, UT, I completed my college degree in traditional art and somehow ended up currently working as a graphic designer, but I'm working toward my life's passion of a career in painting.
I'm very excited to be a part of this forum. I've been silently reading and viewing everyone's amazing work for quite some time, and I finally got the guts to go ahead and join the forum. I've really learned so much about portrait painting from everyone already, I hope by contributing I will learn even more. I will try to attached a few examples of my latest work. |
Welcome to the forum Casey,
Very nice work. |
Welcome Casey good to have you here. I am sure, while here, you will enjoy and learn at the same time. From what I can see we too will benifit from your skills.
Regards, mischa |
Wecome Casey.
You do beautiful work. Glad to have you on board. |
Hello Casey,
Welcome aboard. Hope that you will enjoy yourself and participate in our forum life. I see that you are in Provo, next to William Whitaker, lucky you. Allan |
Hi Casey, you already have a very sound technique and structure to your work, it's a pleasure to have you here

Welcome, Casey! I hope you will enjoy participating. And thanks for sharing some of your work. From the examples you posted, it looks like you have a strong sense of composition, so I'm guessing you are an excellent graphic designer as well as a talented portraitist.

Bonfim, Misha, Richard, Allan, Ilaria and Alex,
Thank you everyone for the many kind words and the very warm welcome. I've seen the quality of work that all of you do and it is quite the compliment when you praise my work. Allan, actually I just took a workshop from William Whitaker about a month ago. He is a wonderful guy to talk to in person, and to watch him paint is just a thrill! |
Hi Casey,
nice work. Hope you will enjoy the forum. |
Welcome, Casey,
I know you will enjoy being part of the Forum. We have only one degree of separation, as I will be in Bill's class later this month. |
Another welcome --
Your posted images are inspiring. Just to look at the first exquisite piece, first -- "Bruce B. Childs", I believe it is (is that your father?) -- I'm very impressed with the gutsy willingness to go for that composition. I'm a huge fan of slightly unorthodox, silver- or platinum- rather than golden-mean composition, and I think this one is enormously successful. Please continue to share your gift with this like-minded community. It means a lot to those who are reading -- as you've indicated that you've done -- and it will mean a lot to you in the process as well. (My personal guarantee is in the mail.) |
Casey, these are wonderful paintings! We are lucky to have you here. Welcome!
|
Hi Casey,
I lived in Utah (Salt Lake City) many years ago and I had no idea that Utah fostered such talent. Your work is very nice and I am looking forward to seeing more. Welcome! |
Hi Casey! Welcome to the forum. Your paintings are wonderful and I look forward to seeing many more.
|
Casey! Great to see you on the forum! I am excited to see where your career takes you!
Right now I am wishing I would have stayed in provo by the mountains. It's flat and 95 degrees here :( |
So glad you decided to de-lurk Casey! Great stuff - looking forward to seeing more from you.
|
Casey,
Welcome! Such beautiful painterly and accomplished work from one so young! I will look forward to your posts. |
Thank you again everyone for making me feel so welcome to this forum and for the many kind words about my work.
I've been quite busy painting lately, not complaining :) , but haven't been able to contribute to this forum as I'd like. I just completed a husband & wife portrait commission that I'll post in the "Unveilings" section (to get myself going on the posting train), so please check it out. |
