Are you attending the SOG dinner at PSOA 2005?

Please vote "yes" if coming and make a post. The voting makes it easy for me to count the total.

You are allowed to bring a spouse or friend.

The sooner you can let me know, the better. This year, I will likely ask for money to be sent ahead. The last time we did this in the restaurant, it was too noisy and our group was really too big and we were very spread out. So, this year, I'm looking at having it buffet style in a private room. Much nicer. There will be 2-4 entree selections of which one will be vegetarian. Be prepared for somewhere between $55-$65/person.

It will be Friday, May 13 at 7pm.

David Draime 03-30-2005 10:12 PM

YES...count me in.

Michele Rushworth 03-31-2005 11:17 AM

I'll be there.

Cynthia Daniel 03-31-2005 02:09 PM

Everyone - please vote and post - the voting is so when there's a bunch of people I don't have to go in and count!

Garth Herrick 03-31-2005 07:00 PM

Vote #4

Yes, Cynthia. One way or another, I will be there. (1)

Garth

Tony Pro 03-31-2005 08:05 PM

Do you need to be a SOG member?
Tony

Garth Herrick 03-31-2005 08:14 PM

Tony, I don't believe so.

Last year I made a reservation for a young Boston portrait painter (and non SOG Forum member) to attend dinner in Boston (although he didn't actually make it there).

Spouses, etc., have been welcome too.

Oh wait, did you mean should the friend cast a vote??

Oh well... looks like I will have to eat dinner with non-sog crowd.

John Reidy 04-01-2005 07:33 AM

I just added my vote. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Cynthia Daniel 04-01-2005 07:12 PM

Tony, you don't need to be an SOG member - you can just be a Forum member.

Cynthia Daniel 04-01-2005 07:14 PM

Oops, looks like someone voted, but didn't put their name down - unless you took the poll, Tony.. You need to vote AND post so I have a count and I have names too.

It will be a buffet and soon, I'll be posting the menu and price. I will be collecting money ahead of time.

Do you want any additional info with the vote posts?

Cynthia,

Would it help your account of the votes if we each post the YES number (#) total that our individual vote has added?

Also do you want us to indicate if we are coming alone (1) or with another (2)?

Currently there are six Yes votes and zero N/A. As I indicated, I cast Yes Vote #4 at the time I voted. I believe I observed John Reidy adding the fifth Yes vote, so hopefully the sixth Yes vote would be Tony, unless someone else has voted in the mean time (I thought I saw the Yes vote count climb to 6 about the same time Linda B. was viewing this thread). Yesterday there was one N/A (I think Tony cast, before John R. making the vote at the time total 4 Yes and 1 N/A) that has since been removed. So in summary:

YES
#1 Cynthia Daniel
#2 David Draime
#3 Michele Rushmore
#4 Garth Herrick
#5 John Reidy
#6 Linda Brandon
#7 Tony Pro

I'm in like Flynn

Count me in!

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!!

Cynthia Daniel 04-03-2005 11:06 AM

The only reason I put an N/A option is because I can't put less than 2 choices for a poll.

Cynthia Daniel 04-04-2005 10:56 AM

So far, I have 15 people attending. We need a minimum of 30 to do the buffet in a private room - otherwise we will just be in the noisy restaurant. Here is the list so far:

Ashton, Leila 1
Cohen, Jill 1
Daniel, Cynthia 1
De la Vega, John 1
Draime, David 1
Herrick, Garth 1
Marcus, Heather 2
Paules, Dean 2
Reidy, John 1
Rushworth, Michele 1
Spinks, Johanna 1
Pro, Tony 1
Brandon, Linda 1

...and myself, of course.

Janel Maples 04-05-2005 11:58 PM

Oh I hope I did this correctly. I am in for two and very much looking forward to meeting everyone.

Cynthia Daniel 04-06-2005 07:41 AM

Janel,

Unfortunately, you can't vote 2 times, but I've got it down.

Everyone,

There are only 18 seats left - our max is 44.

I have a wonderful treat to announce - Simmie Knox and his wife will be joining us.

Michele Rushworth 04-06-2005 09:43 AM

Wow -- it's worth travelling across the country just to talk to him!

Kimberly Dow 04-06-2005 10:17 AM

Well, drats to all of you. :o

I really thought I was going to make it to this. Near my mother's home - just about on my birthday also. Unfortunatly the husband is out of town for 2 months. Wouldn't you all just love me to death if I showed up with 3 children? :bewildere

Have fun folks, maybe I'll get to meet some of you next year!

Jean Kelly 04-06-2005 11:19 PM

Hang in there Kim, I can't go either, the body is still complaining too much. Maybe we'll both get to go next year. I'd like to be able to nag you in person. :sunnysmil

Jean

Michele Rushworth 05-09-2005 02:43 PM

Cynthia, can you tell us where the dinner will be held, and post an updated attendee list?

Thanks!

Sharon Knettell 05-09-2005 04:59 PM

Congratulations to all of you!

Boy, have I been out of the loop!

I thought the conference was over last weekend! I thought when I got back from California the winners would have been announced! Duh!

I just want to send my best wishes to Linda, Dave, Tony, Sergio and Garth for the tremendous honor of being selected! WOW!
