Weekend project.
Faye is a small 11x14 oil on canvas.
As with most of my posts, the lighting is seemingly adverse here.

I personally like the lighting and angle in this!

I actually like the crop of the detail better than the full sized one - it's more dynamic.

It's very beautiful - unique, and interesting.

Wish I could paint the photo. It could be such an arresting piece.

Very nice Garth.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I'm trying to choose better material to paint from after reading and viewing all the nice work here at SOG.

Thanks again,
Jerome

Garth,
This is lovely! The composition, the pose are very creative and she is so sweetly engrossed in her thoughts! Tells a sweet tale.
I'll let others give professional opinions. Just wanted to say, this one moves me!

Nice way to spend a weekend Garth! She is wonderful.

I like it, I like it, I like it.

Garth,

Wonderfully done. I too love the pose. The cropped photo is a little more dramatic, but it works wonderfully either way. Keep the brushes moving.

Garth,

You have done an especially nice job with the cast shadow on that little finger - it very successfully defines the form of the cheek.

That's a pose with an interesting psychology, and beautifully treated. The lighting enhances the mood to a great degree, and reminds me somewhat of the followers of Caravaggio.
