Thanks! The other portraits are like grown children out of the house. I don't hear from them very often, and I am still looking for the courtroom address of one! Time for a visit.

The head detail is beautiful and instructive. I've been struggling tremendously the last couple of years over skin tones and still am very dissatisfied. For some reason, this work really speaks to some of the things I'm wrestling with.

In truth, I applied some things I learned fro you on this Forum, in this portrait. Like maintaining a consistent warm/cool plan for the highlights and shadows accross the canvas.

Please share your work in progress with me if you wish. I would enjoy seeing it.

I never feel your masterpieces are ever over noodled, they are always satifying, chromatically balanced, and inspiring.

Alex and I still have a lot of walls to cover in Philadelphia. There are still many potential portraits. I have to wait until August to really get started on the next one for this District Courthouse. Finally, a Judge who is very much still alive, although presently on vacation.

Thanks Jean, I am flattered! I pick things up from you too. Have you any Philadelphia relatives? There was even a certain Grace Kelly present at the reception, although I think she was not the same person as her Philadelphia namesake who married His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III of Monaco some years back.

Hi Garth,

I'm not really a "Kelly", I married the name. First husband was all Irish but I don't have a drop in me. My maiden name was Seymour and there may be some in that area, but I'm unaware of them. I've done more research on my mother's side (Scandinavia), and have chosen to disinherit my English ancestry. But in researching the Sandinavian side I discovered that the Seymours came from northern France, which was populated by Viking explorers. So even the English side is Scandinavian!

I'd say go for it! The desire of professionalism is most the inspiration one needs.

Hopefully however, a prospective portrait subject, will be alive and well. It's generally tough doing posthumous portraits.
