Beautiful work Tom -- That flower in his hand subtle, understated and fits the mood & setting perfectly. I especially like how you've handled the rosy light on the columns and in the background. Gorgeous!

This is great, Tom. Close ups?

Claudemir--

Thanks so much!

Tom, fantastic painting as always! The work and planning you put into this painting make it even more stunning! When I was struggling with a painting, Marvin told me that the more you have to make up, the less realistic it will look. Obviously that doesn't apply to this painting!

Congratulations again,

Renee

Hi Renee!

A slight clarification: I pretty much agree with Marvin, in that anything made up will be inauthentic looking. All of the piece-parts of this were observed from reality, just not all at the same time in the same place.

Great to hear from you...hope you're feeling well.

Marvin Mattelson 03-14-2009 08:32 PM

I'll go one step further. Each element you paint needs to be understood, particularly in terms of structure.

Beautiful job Tom!

Tom Edgerton 03-15-2009 09:30 AM

Absolutely. Marvin, I appreciate the compliment--hope you're doing well.
