Just stumbled across these...beautiful little paintings. I love how you captured the feeling of the architecture. There is a lot of atmosphere in these. Would love to see more ...

Carlos,
I always enjoy the juxtaposition of old and new in your work. In fact there is a touch of humor in it. From your paintings I would guess that you have a good sense of humor that is not obvious at first meeting. Whether that's actually true, I have no idea! I love the dark doorways, and in the first one, I especially love the way you can see into the interior space. It gives the painting depth, mystery, and also a secondary focal point. |
Thanks for your comment, David. I am planning to do a series of these little works when I get the time. Hope it

Hi to all,
I wanted to post this new one I just finished. In the same line as the previous 2 in this thread. Also culled from various photos and "recomposed" and "distilled" on the panel. "De tapas" Oil on MDF panel, 36cm x 27cm |
Carlos,
I like this new addiction ;) it is an exquisite demonstraton of body language and very picturesque, keep up! One day I'll come down to your town and paint with you. |
Thanks for your response Allan. It is exactly what I want to achieve in this little series: atmosphere and body gesture/language. Aside from the fact that I derive pure pleasure out of painting them.

Carlos these are really neat. I like the spontaneity of them.
