To extend this academic exercise one step further (maybe one step to far) I would offer this: Removing the chair completely causes a problem with the pose. When the chair exists it explains the extension of the chest and stomach area, seems reasonable for a sitting person. When the chair is removed you might assume that the man is standing. If he is standing it would then appear that he is much larger in circumfrence than he actually is. I think that <if> an alteration is warranted, that it would be to reduce the value and color intensity of the chair, but allow it to remain to explain the pose. These Photoshop programs are wonderful for these "what if" scenarios. You test a theory, no harm done, very powerful.
