Inspiration

Quote:

There are all variations on this, but a paraphrase of many of them is that amateurs wait for inspiration and the right time, whereas professionals go to work every day and invite inspiration to come along.
Steven, this is a great quote. I have printed it out and taped it to my easel! (Actually, I should print out about 10 more copies and put them where they are really needed, like on the refrigerator, the TV, everywhere but the easel. Once I'm standing in front of my easel, I'm more than half way there.

Thank you!
Joan

Great forum

Thank you Debra and Sandy for your replies. Procrastination wasn't a word that I used in my first post on this subject but I guess that's what I do all the time. And I do it because of that fear of failure thing. But thanks to this forum I have some good solutions. (Thank you Cynthia for making it all possible.)

Debra, the portrait of your husband sounds like a challenge. I have been trying to paint my two children for a couple of years and because I'm so close to them, I think that makes it more difficult. I can never capture all 100 of their expressions and all the joy they bring me in a single portrait. It seems easier to paint a model in a classroom that I don't know.

Sandy, let's keep after Karin for that video!

Joan
