Having met Carl last year and having exchanged many an email with him, I was shocked and deeply saddened by this news. Carl, hang in there and fight.... Is there anything we can do?

I have a big email folder full of advice, hints, ideas and what can only be called general all-around brilliance from Carl. He is an extraordinarily generous, kind, funny, imaginative and gifted artist.

Carl, I hope you know how many people care about you and sincerely hope all goes well for you in the weeks and months to come. All love and prayers going out to you, my friend.
