Bouguereau in Birmingham

The title of the painting is "L'aurore" or "Dawn".
It's 84.65" x 42.13". Breathtaking in person!

Also, Holly...

The Cummer Gallery of Art in Jacksonville, Fla. has a very large Bouguereux ("Return From The Harvest," 5'x 7') and two others. I recently did a college paper on the big one and was absolutely amazed at the skin tones of the subjects...near photo quality. There are many other artists works you will enjoy. Tuesday nights are free to the public, otherwise it's about six dollars to visit.

Have fun!

So many places to visit

Thanks everyone for your replies. Now there's many places on my list to visit. However, we're postponing our trip to the Smoky Mountains for a while, as they've had 11 inches of rain (according to one estimate) in the last couple weeks, and the forecast is rain again next week. :( Several of the roads in and around the park are washed out or temporarily closed. We just couldn't see hiking and camping in the mud and rain.

We are going to take a day trip to the Appleton Museum in Ocala tomorrow though. If I can figure out a reasonable way to compile the information provided here and elsewhere, I'll let you know.

Thanks again.
