Sally done

Well she's about as done as I can make her. Enzie, I fixed her broken knuckle (did I forget to say she's a boxer) :D. I gave it to her this afternoon and she was very happy with it. I'm trying to get her husband to pose next. He's very black, gorgeous, sexy, and I really want to paint him!

If I had it to do over I would have changed the position of her hand. I believed when I did it that the fingers would draw the eye back to her face. But, all the fingers should have curved back for it to have worked. The back of the couch could have been thought out better. By the time I really knew what I was going to do there was too much pastel built up. I scraped and scrubbed it off, but still had a hard time in that area.

For the positive, it was a great learning experience! Using different colors in her face, skin tones, hair, I had a good time doing this. What do you think?

Chris, can you see the blue and green? They are there.

Jean,

The hand looks so much better (forgive me for saying this, but the thumb could have used some more attention as well). I especially like your color choices. It gives the painting such a feminine softness and to think that this seemingly fragile woman is a boxer is amazing!

Boxer

Hi, Enzie,

Sally may look fragile but she's one tough lady. She's not really a boxer, though. I was making fun of myself for putting shadows in the wrong place and making her knuckle look smashed. :sunnysmil It's funny how much the wrong stroke in the wrong place can change so much! I did the same thing to Betsy's nose.

I'm burned out on Sally now, talked to her husband today and I'm going to start working on him now. I'm really looking forward to it. Got another commission in to do also.

On a different topic: Enzie, the name of the movie is "The Wind Will Carry Us". We rented it at Hollywood video here. I'm sure Blockbuster should carry it. E-mail me if you watch it and tell me what you think.

Jean
